Last year, the Bank successfully launched its first ever development programme for 12 junior professionals; I am now very pleased to announce that the 2012 International Professionals Programme (IPP) was launched this week.
Those recruited to the 2012 programme will undergo an intensive development programme and will be assigned to an area of the Bank relevant to their professional background and career aspirations.
In 2012, the participants will be hosted by Banking (9), Communications (1), the Office of the Secretary General (1) and Credit Portfolio (1). The structure of the programme remains the same: they will rotate through three six-month placements at Headquarters and undertake one five-month assignment in one of our countries of operations.
Throughout the programme, participants will undertake a tailored training programme under the guidance of an IPP manager, and will be assigned a mentor. Regular networking events will help them build an invaluable base of contacts for the future.
As before, the programme is for 23 months, and at the end high performing participants will be eligible to apply for positions at the Bank.
The global recruitment campaign is aimed at targeting a diverse range of candidates such as international students and alumni from top ranking business schools. An advert will also appear in The Economist, The Japan Times and Nikkei.
Candidates will undergo rigorous testing and relevant business units will be involved in the selection process which will take place at HQ in May. Successful candidates will start in September.
